CONCERN
AMENDMENT TO REGULATION OF THE MINISTER OF HEALTH
NO.722/Menkes/Per/IX/1988 ON FOOD ADDITIVES
MINISTER OF HEALTH OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA,
Considering :
- a. that based on results of research, the use of potassium bromate in foods and drinks can endanger health because it is carsinogenic, so that it is necessary to prohibit its use in foods;
- b. that the use of potassium bromate as a food additive based on the Regulation of the Minister of Health No. 722/Menkes/Per/IX/1988 is still allowed within permissible limits;
- c. that in connection with the consideration in point a, it is necessary to amend the Regulation of the Minister of Health No. 722/Menkes/Per/IX/1988 by issuing a ministerial regulation to this effect;
In view of :
- 1. Law No. 23/1992 on health affairs (Statute Book of 1992 No. 100, Supplement to Statute Book No. 3495);
- 2. Law No. 7/1996 on foods (Statute Book of 1996 No. 99, Supplement to Statute Book No. 3656);
- 3. The Regulation of the Minister of Health No. 329/Menkes/Per/XII/1976 on food production and distribution;
- 4. The Regulation of the Minister of Health No. 722/MenkeslPer/IX/1988 on food additives;
- 5. The Decree of the Minister of Health No. 558/Menkes/SK/1984 on the organisation and working procedure of the Ministry of Health.
DECIDES:
To stipulate:
THE REGULATION OF THE MINISTER OF HEALTH CONCERNING AMENDMENT TO REGULATION OF THE MINISTER OF HEALTH NO. 722/MENKES/PER/IX/1988 ON FOOD ADDITIVES
Article I
(1) To omit number 4, figure V, Attachment I to the Regulation of the Minister of Health No.722/Menkes/Per/IX/1988 so that the list shall entirely become as contained in Attachment I.
(2) To supplement number 10 to Attachment II to the Regulation of the Minister of Health No.722/Menkes/Per/IX/1988 so that the list shall entirely become as contained in Attachment II.
Article II
This decree shall come into force as from the date of stipulation.
